But Foxstar took no more notice of Slatepaw she adressed the crowded cats "As you have all noticed the water in our territory has been decreasing. the level becoming lower and lower, surely you have all felt the affects of the heat, this Greenleaf has been like no other" she paused "We are all in grave danger'.

With that mentioned, Firestorm glanced sideways at her sister. It felt as if waves of sickness flowed from her and throughout although she seemed perfectly healthy, but then she remembered how Creamshadow lagged behind then collapsed. Was the heat and low water supply the cause? Surely low water supply and heat couldn't hurt a cat if they were careful enough. Maybe there was something wrong with the water, maybe it was contaminated?
Firestorm looked at her sister again, more closely this time and as she did, she noticed her eyes seemed cloudy. Shaking her head she turned her attention back to Foxstar. If anything was wrong, she would ask her sister after the announcements, reminding herself that she had a new responsibility.

The new apprentice's ears twitched, uncertainly. Crouching, he listened to his leader speak, keeping one eye on his mentor with a wary readiness - in case she gave him any commands.
Unconsciously, he shivered - not from the sweltering heat - as he heard the foreboding words that flowed from Foxstar's mouth. He was right. He was young and he had never experienced the full four seasons, but some feral instinct told him that something was wrong with the weather. Something was very wrong - the whole forest could feel it.

Snowkit watched the goings-on from outside the Nursery, wishing she could join them. Yes, she was six moons old, and she knew that soon she'd be able to become an apprentice. Too far away to quite hear the conversation (and the wind was blowing their voices away from her), she was unable to realize that serious and foreboding conversations were going on, though she noticed that some of the cats looked uncomfortable. But for now, the young she-cat was too caught up in the ideas of apprenticeship to notice much. Lucky Slatepaw! she thought, gazing at her former roommate yearningly.
